Working 80 hours in 6 days looks like...

Last week I worked on a tv commercial for a Russian gift card - the "Megacard" - in which women are passed out in various public scenes having shopped til they dropped.
I felt just like this girl when we wrapped at 8am on Day 5 after a 2nd all-nighter
This was a fun lipcolor moment & it was made possible by Sephora lip liner in Funky Fuchsia and Makeup Forever pink from their grease box. I filled in the lip completely with the pencil first, then brushed on a bit of the pink grease to intensify and to wet the lip a little.

Shout to amazing assistants! Thank You!

Paul + Joe s/s 2o11

One of the best things I could ask for is that a girl specifically request ME to do her makeup - especially on my last show of the last day of Paris fashion week. When everyone is traditionally sick and cranky, this is like a gift from heaven.
Such was the case with Julia - this girl is a cool, no-BS chick from Oz whose candor delights. We had fun getting her done.
Pretty painless - hah! Get it? :)

Tao Mobile : Vanessa Bruno

This is Tao backstage at Vanessa Bruno - in the Theatre National de Chaillot
We took the photo with Tao's cell phone because my camera ran out of batteries.
A girl who will offer her phone + email you the photo is a good egg.
I ♥ Tao !

Lovely Lily Allen graces Givenchy

I got Lily ready for the Givenchy show last night at her hotel near the Opéra. She is an absolutely delightful person. Here's how she looked in the front row:
We went for classic makeup, with a va-voom mouth of fiery red. The lipcolor I used is an amazing vintage (read: discontinued long, long ago) Chanel lipstick named Paradise.

Sonia Rykiel s/s 2o11

Glittery posters next to the line-up backstage read
"SMIIIIIIILE" and "NO POSE"
A buoyant rendition of The Stranglers' "Golden Brown" played to further set the tone, and the girls followed suit, bouncing down the runway.

Rochas: Rhapsody in Yves Klein Blue

Wednesday at the Gymnase Japy, Paris 11e. It was an old-world look done in a new way. Hollow eyes of blue - Yves Klein blue - gazing hopefully like immigrant dolls, into the great wide open...

Refined rebellion at Marc by Marc

My girl, Julia, on the Marc by Marc runway 9.14.1o
If this season's Marc Jacobs show was Guy Bourdain Barbie, then Marc by Marc was Skipper as interpreted by Helmut Newton.
Both makeup looks had strength and glamour in spades.
Marc Jacobs went for drama with a smokey, glossy eye and deep red, matte mouth.
Marc by Marc featured smudged, lined eyes with clear gloss on the nude lids. The lips were a playful poppy orange-red - also matte, also totally "there" - conveying the carefree, deliciously devious side of the Marc Jacobs girl.
